The Telegraph reported earlier this week that a network of rapid charge points capable of recharging an electric car in about 15 minutes are to be installed at motorway service stations around the country.
Ecotricity, the company installing the charge points in partnership with Nissan, plan to place a charging point at every motorway service station. The aim of the scheme is to encourage the use of electric vehicles out of towns and cities and on to the open road by removing any fears they may have of becoming stranded with a flat battery. "Range anxiety", combined with the time needed to recharge a vehicle's battery, is often cited as a main reason for the lack of uptake of electric vehicles.
However, a recent report by MPs on the Transport Committee, warned that provision of charging points may not stimulate demand for plug in vehicles.
So we'd like to know what you'd think? Will the provision of quick-charge points at motorway service station make you consider using electric vehicles in your fleet?"
