SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL TO ENHANCE FLEET VISIBILITY WITH TELETRAC NAVMAN DEAL

 

Global telematics provider Teletrac Navman has secured a contract renewal with South Tyneside Council to provide its market-leading fleet management software, enabling the local authority to track its 330 strong fleet of vehicles.

 

Milton Keynes, May 10 2021 - South Tyneside Council, which covers Hebburn, South Shields, Jarrow, Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn in the North East of England – provides a full range of local government services to its residents, including the transportation of personnel and materials.  

The renewal will see Teletrac Navman implement its advanced telematics system, allowing the local authority to optimise fleet management practices. It will enable fleet managers to access real-time data in one easy-to-use interface, such as driver performance, vehicle location, fuel usage and idling time.

In addition to this, the Driver ID feature, which was also included as part of the deal, allows the Council’s 1,000 drivers to present either a key fob or PIN number to operate a council vehicle. As no one driver is permanently assigned to a single motor, the Driver ID solution will enhance security across the fleet.

The deal also includes the support from Teletrac Navman’s Professional Services team, who will oversee the implementation process, and provide training on a case-by-case basis, allowing the Council’s fleet managers to extract as much value from the data and tools offered.
